MEET THE TEAM
Sally Gales

Originally from South Florida, Sally moved to Scotland to earn a Doctorate in Creative Writing from the University of Glasgow. She used her passion for SFF and children’s literature to write a doctoral thesis consisting of a YA dystopian novel and a series of creative non-fiction essays on Dead Space. During her studies, she also discovered a passion for helping others tell their stories. Sally teaches creative writing through various universities around the UK and works with The Guardian to deliver SFF world-building courses through their Masterclass program. When not writing, Sally is usually thinking about writing, but she can also be found walking her greyhound, climbing with her partner or baking in the kitchen.
If Sally were stranded on a desert island, the two fantasy and/or science fiction novels she would want with her are A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (she will try to cheat and take the entire trilogy with her) and The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman. She would choose the first to draw on inspiration from Lila Bard to find a way off the island and the second because if there was ever a time a daemon would be needed it would be on a deserted island.
